Our take
The FURminator is behind those videos where a cloud of fur comes off a dog that looked well brushed. Its steel edge reaches the undercoat, the layer of loose hair that builds up underneath and ends up on your floor and couch.
Used once or twice a week during shedding season, it greatly reduces hair around the house. A button releases the fur collected on the edge.
Use it gently and don't overwork one spot, as it can irritate the skin. And pick the right version: this one is for large long-haired dogs; the brand makes others for short hair and smaller sizes.
Pros
- Removes tons of loose fur
- Less hair around the house
- Fur-release button
- Very durable
Cons
- Can irritate skin if used too hard
- You need the right version
